KALIThis video is inspired with the Hindu goddess Kali, represented in her destructive form, with the necklace of human heads. Gradually, in each of her beads appear inserts from TV shows of popular folk-stars, the main representatives of the trash mass culture in Serbia during the past ten years marked by the civil war. In the main bead appear human skulls and documentary scenes from the war. This video is 'archaeology of suffering', common to all people from all over the world, layers of incoherent experience gathered in one image in which details disintegrate totality, and totality is just remain of disappearing tracks and trails, coming in sight as a testament of broken experience. |
