International Jury of the 17th International Video Festival Videomedeja in 2013. with the following members: Alexei Dmitriev from Russia, Nataša Teofilović from Serbia and Robert Arnold from USA has made the following decisions:

The Sphinx Award for the best video:

Céline TROUILLET, SONG N°21, 04:30, Color, Stereo, FR, 2012

Standing out as unique for its brave and surprising presentation that uses the most simple and direct form to convey a powerful experience that transforms the viewer, even without knowing the context.

Bogdanka Poznanovic Award for the best Media Installation, Live piece, Software, URL:

Les Miserables, One good day; 45.2500°/ N 19.8500° E, Portable game (Android app), Serbia, 2013

The jury believes that the category of installation offers opportunities for different interactions between works and spectators than single channel video. We felt that on the whole the installation in the competition this year did not take advantage of these opportunities. Only one work was committed to a different relationship with the participant, and although still raw, the jury awards the Bogdanka Poznanović prize to “One Good Day” by the group “Les Miserables”.

Special mention:

Sebastian Diaz Morales, Insight, 12:00, Color, Stereo, Argentina, 2012

For it’s precise formal investigation of the shooting process with a twist, not relaying on overused digital effects, revealing what is on the other side of the lens, the jury awards an honorable mention to “Insight” by Sebastian Diaz Morales.

Special mention:

Shahar Marcus, Seeds, 05:03, Color, Stereo, IL, 2012

As a poetic film about a difficult subject that uses metaphor to avoid picking sides, offering a message of hope, the jury awards an honorable mention to “Seeds” by Shahar Marcus.
