S&L @ 70% or the de-erotification of “touch”,3:38 min, Color, Mute, United Kingdom, 2016

Born in Paris and raised in Sweden, C Charton decided to pursue her interest in art following a career as a fashion model. Graduating from Central Saint Martins with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in FA in 2003. She went on to complete her MA in Fine Art at Middlesex University in 2106 graduating with Distinction.

An attempt counteract the relentless erotification of “touch”, by directing the performers to reach in to each other’s spaces and calmly without haste, touch the other person’s face in a manner that should be as diametrically opposite as possible to anything that could be interpreted as “erotic”.
