kimusawea is a film about the rebirth of an artist who, apparently of age, becomes aware of his inner world and individual perception in an environment of conventions, in a world of the ‘others’. He discovers the world a new and free of prejudice. His clear view is not limited by his being different from the normality of the others, his insanity. He exists solely in his individual time and thus overcomes the official time of outer reality. With this work of art, Hagen Wiel gives the observer the impression of the cyclic moment of rising artistic self-perception and therefore the artist’s birth as a creator of their own world.
