Monument, 50 min, Stereo, Croatia, 2015
Igor Grubic (born in 1969, lives and works in Zagreb) has been active as a multimedia artist since 90’s. His work includes site-specific interventions in public spaces, performances, photography and films. He is known for his activism and his consideration about public space as a means of expression.
During the 1990s, Croatia suffered systematic violation and destruction of its anti-fascist monuments. By combining the images of these impressive works of abstract sculpture with the potent nature surrounding them, Monument creates a visual metaphor to reflect on their purpose nowadays.
