Adad Hannah was born in New York and currently lives in Burnaby, BC. He holds a Ph.D. in Humanities and a MFA from Concordia University in Montreal, as well as a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver.

Hannah’s work is held in numerous public and private collections across Canada and internationally, and has been exhibited extensively throughout North America, Europe, West Africa, Australia, Korea, China, and Russia. Recent solo exhibitions include Adad Hannah: Glints and Reflections, which toured to the Kamloops Art Gallery, Southern Alberta Art Gallery, Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, and The Rooms in St. John’s, Newfoundland in 2019/2020.

He has won several prestigious awards, including the Canada Council for the Arts’ Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Award for outstanding mid-career artists in 2009. He is represented by Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain in Montreal and Equinox Gallery in Vancouver.
