Nenad Milošević

Director and Screenwriter

Nenad Milošević was born in Sarajevo in 1977. He graduated in multimedia directing from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, under the mentorship of Professor Boro Drašković. In 2001, together with his colleagues, he co-founded the NFC Kino Klub Novi Sad and the independent film festival Filmski Front.

His early works, including the socially engaged documentaries Putting our best foot forward (1997, 23’) co-directed with Aleksandar Davić and Tolnai Szabolcs and The Social Center Dr. Archibald Reiss (2012, 27′), as well as a series of Super8 experimental films, reflect his strong documentary sensibility and passion for film enthusiasm.

His first feature-length documentary, The Other Line (2016, 108’), was screened at numerous international film festivals and featured in several important exhibitions of conceptual and contemporary art. It won the award for Best National Feature-Length Documentary at BELDOCS IDFF 2016.

Currently, two new films are in post-production: a hybrid feature tentatively titled Before the Noise, and a feature-length documentary Galeb, co-directed with theatre director Tomi Janežič.

Since 2007, Milošević has worked as a lead director at Radio Television of Vojvodina, where he has directed a wide range of programs, including cultural and artistic shows, concerts, live broadcasts, promotional films, special formats, radio dramas, music videos, and numerous original TV documentaries. He was also the creator and director of seven seasons of Short Cuts, a TV program dedicated to film, and has long served as the director of the Palić Film Festival Chronicle.

He has been a member of the Documentary Filmmakers of Serbia – DokSrbija since 2016, and currently serves on its Executive Board. He lives and works in Novi Sad.
