A photographer, accompanied by her dog, arrives in a small village in Southeast Serbia in search of her missing friend Jasna.

On this trip, she meets a 6-year-old boy, who also wonders about Jasna’s whereabouts.

A dream-like course of events, that blends together reality and fiction, objective and subjective perception, the past and the present, as well as stillness of photography and dynamism of moving image, makes one reflect on childhood, role models and influences, empathy, closeness, introspection, new beginnings and hope.

Marko Ubović begins studies in Fine Arts in Basel, Switzerland, but in 2008 he moves to Serbia where he continues his studies in New Media Arts and Photography.

Currently, he is studying a PhD programme in Fine Arts at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, where he also works as assistant professor at the New Media department.

Marko’s work is interdisciplinary and he uses different media such as video, photography, sound, text/language and drawing. The topics that he processes vary from recollection and memory to concept of reality and reexamination of a medium itself.

Since 2007 he is a regular participant at exhibitions and festivals in Serbia and abroad. So far, he exhibited his works in 14 countries (Switzerland, Germany, Italy, USA, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia, Greece, China, Romania, Poland, Spain, France, the Netherlands).

Marko received several prizes at various galleries and festivals, including first prize for his video Valley of the Shadow of Death in the category Experimental short visual form at the Interference festival in Poland in 2017. An article about this experimental film of his was written in New York-based Millennium Film Journal (The Oldest Journal of Avant-Garde and Media Art on Planet Earth), no. 68.
