Following the many questions and calls we have received in recent days, and following the public announcement of the funding results, we would like to let you know that the 30th Videomedeja will take place on October 17, 2026 at Museum of Contemporary Art Vojvodina in Novi Sad.
This year’s edition will be realised on a significantly reduced scale, and as you already know, the reason is that we have not received funding specifically allocated for the realisation of the festival programme through the funding calls conducted so far.
Nevertheless, we did not want to stop the festival.
Most importantly, we did not want to let down the artists who submitted their work to this year’s open call and entrusted their work to our selection process. After reviewing more than 500 submitted works and communicating with artists from all over the world, we felt that simply cancelling this year’s programme was not an option.

For three decades, Videomedeja has continuously presented contemporary video and media art, artists from Serbia and the international art scene, and has become an important part of the cultural identity of Novi Sad and Serbia.
We therefore believe that supporting its continued existence is a matter of preserving continuity, not simply financing a one-year programme.
We believe that the upcoming funding calls will recognise the significance of the 30th anniversary edition, its longstanding presence on the international art scene, and everything that has been built over three decades, enabling us to settle existing obligations and create the conditions for Videomedeja to continue its tradition in Serbia next year.
For now, we are making this edition possible through our own work, the commitment of our collaborators and the support of people who believe in Videomedeja.
And this year, we have a new category: DONATIONS. 🙂

Thirty years of Videomedeja is not simply 30 editions of a festival. It represents three decades of continuous work developing and promoting new artistic practices in Serbia and connecting them with the international art scene.
We want to preserve that continuity.
