Butternut, 4:05 min, Stereo, United States, 2014

Michael O’Donnell was educated in philosophy and industrial design. Created environments with lumina machines and film. Worked as  an Industrial designer, comic artist, muralist, illustrator, and has exhibited experimental films internationally. Currently director/partner at Loose threads Cinema.

A hard-skinned squash was chopped apart with a large, sharp chef’s knife, photographed, digitized, and chopped apart again in virtual space. The delicious pieces were taught to slip and slide to a butternut beat in the key of B, music that itself slivers and slices across the sound spectrum.
