New Digital Poetics

The continuous technological evolution has undoubtedly contributed to the emergence of new scenarios in the field of audiovisual language. In particular, the artist’s video has been able to renew its aesthetic, poetic, and semantic capacities, not only by carefully illustrating our daily lives but also by anticipating new visions that often surpass the thresholds of perception and the space-time dimension, inviting the audience to seek a new, conscious balance. Often, a dreamlike journey is necessary to face the intellectual challenges of one’s time. Today, the artist uses various contemporary languages, ranging from the use of their own body to the reinterpretation of landscapes, multiple animation techniques, and even artificial intelligence.

This latter topic has been the subject of much debate in recent years, as technology and the related consumption strategies have reached a pervasive dimension that affects every aspect of individuals’ lives, influencing social and communicative dynamics. Art is the only solution to not be overwhelmed by pre-set contexts, but we must be careful not to place the medium before the message. Don’t ask how a work was created; ask what it is about!
