Videomedeja Grand Prize:
Arthur Dujols-Luquet, Sur les sentiers de nos pas, 32:29 min, Color, Stereo, France/China, 2025
The International Jury of the 30th Videomedeja Festival awards the Videomedeja Grand Prize to Arthur Dujols-Luquet for Sur les sentiers de nos pas, a work that explores the complexity of human existence through a sensitive and compelling language of visual poetry and performance.
In the turbulent and uncertain times we are living through, the work invites us to slow down, observes our relationship with time, and shows an unexpected view of China.
Through the passage of time, minimal gestures, reflections and repetitions, the film transforms seemingly ordinary moments into a profound meditation on existence.
Its artistic strength lies in its ability to construct a deeply contemporary narrative through subtle visual and performative elements, reflecting on the fragility and complexity of the human condition.
Special Mention:
Kenneth Russo, Intimate Strangers, 05:38 min, B&W, Stereo, Spain, 2026
The International Jury of the 30th Videomedeja awards a Special Mention to Kenneth Russo for Intimate Strangers, a compelling work that explores the creative and critical potential of artificial intelligence in contemporary visual culture.
Rather than using AI merely as a tool for image generation, the artist employs it to challenge the boundaries of photographic representation, putting the archive and its relationship with memory, identity, and visual truth under pressure.
The work avoids the trap of a recognizable AI aesthetic, resisting the fascination with technological spectacle and visual effects. Instead, artificial intelligence becomes a critical and conceptual tool.
Special Mention:
Mohammad Hasani, The Poetics of Stones, 15:00 min, Color, Stereo, Iran, 2026
The International Jury of the 30th Videomedeja awards a Special Mention to Mohammad Hasani for The Poetics of Stones, a powerful and compelling work that courageously exposes the violence of sexual abuse.
Through striking imagery and intense editing, the film progressively amplifies the sexualized gaze, ultimately revealing the horror of abuse and the disturbing indifference of society.
Its strength lies in transforming visual discomfort into a powerful denunciation of violence, silence, and collective complicity.
