Ivana Sremčević Matijević
PRESIDENT OF THE ASSOCIATION AND FESTIVAL DIRECTOR
Ivana Sremčević Matijević holds a professional degree in graphic engineering, design, and applied photography. Earlier in her academic path, she also studied philosophy and sociology, which contributed to her critical and interdisciplinary approach to art.
With over thirty years of experience in new media art and cultural management, she has gradually developed her career as a producer, researcher, curator, artist, publisher, editor, and director. She has worked across various media, including interactive installations, expanded media, cinemagraphs, video, film, performance, photography, graphic and web design.
She has participated as an artist in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the fields of photography, design, cinemagraphs, expanded media, and interactive installations.
She has exhibited and been invited to numerous national and international festivals, where she also served as a jury member and selector. She has collaborated on European cultural projects, as well as educational and artistic programs at faculties, academies, secondary schools, galleries, and other cultural institutions in Serbia and abroad.
Since 2001, she has been the director of the Association for Video Art Videomedeja and the International New Media Art Festival Videomedeja, where she is also a member of the artistic board and selection committee.
Before her engagement in new media art and cultural management, she worked as a journalist and television director for both independent and public broadcasting networks. She has designed and led numerous creative workshops for children, through which she inspiringly shared knowledge and encouraged artistic expression among younger generations.
