Ivana Sremčević Matijević is an artist, producer and curator with more than thirty years of experience in new media art and cultural production. She holds a degree in Graphic Engineering, Design and Applied Photography, while her studies in philosophy and sociology contributed to an interdisciplinary approach that connects art, technology and contemporary culture.

Her practice has developed across a range of media and formats, including photography, video, film and directing, interactive installations, expanded media, cinemagraphs, graphic design and web design. Her artistic and production work also includes promotional videos and short audiovisual forms, as well as creating music and sound for film, video and other visual projects. Her recent work explores generative artificial intelligence, AI video and the possibilities offered by emerging technologies in artistic and visual production.

As an artist, she has participated in solo and group exhibitions in the fields of photography, design, cinemagraphs, expanded media and interactive installations. Her work has also been presented at festivals in Serbia and internationally, where she has served as a jury member and selector. She has collaborated on European cultural projects, as well as educational and artistic programmes developed by universities, academies, secondary schools, galleries and other cultural institutions in Serbia and abroad.

Since 2001, she has served as President of the Videomedeja Video Art Association and Director of the Videomedeja International New Media Art Festival. As a member of the Artistic Council and selection team, she contributes to shaping the festival’s artistic programme. Over more than two decades, she has led the development and production of exhibitions, festival programmes, international collaborations, publications and digital projects dedicated to contemporary art and new media.

Before focusing professionally on new media art and cultural production, she worked as a journalist and television director for independent and public television broadcasters. She is also the author and mentor of creative and educational programmes for children and young people.
